I ain't going to knock the cheviot lads for churning out fast motors.

My old Disco 200tdi was modified by them and it is to quote a phrase, " bloody fast" too.

They also did extremely well with the other halfs motor but I will let her tell you about that one.

I have a Landy Cruiser. 3.0 turbo intercooler diesel. Automatic transmission and permanent 4 wheel drive. All the luxury Toyota items, like climate control/air-con, 6Xcd changer, 8 seats, (including for 3 Japanese midgets!) 6 cup holders! VHF/UHF 50 watts ham radio, CB available. Goes like a rocket, but on the mud-tires!!

I want it buried with me when I go.

For the last 4 years, I have and still drive my trusty....er sorrt typo, rusty old series 3 88" normaly asphixiated 2.25 petrol.

It usually gets me where ever I need to go and has been from Berkshire to the Lakes District and Wales to Scotland....It's all my own work and one day I might even get it finished.

Not as fast as other Land Rovers on road and not as comfortable as others off road.....but it does tend to keep going even when its broken!

Change it? no way.

Modify it? Oh yes.

Darrin

Depends on many things.

Age of motor. Type of intake, (carburetor or fuel injection)

As Whinne is fuel injection so my advice is based on this.

Single point injection kits. This installation injects LPG into plemium chamber (air intake) and disables the fuel (petrol) injection.

You can buy second hand kit of the likes of E Bay for 200-400
Or buy a new self fit kit for 300-500
BUT you need to have installation checked and certified to keep insurance companies happy.
They are not difficult to fit if you have some mechanical knowledge and plenty of patience.
Professionally fitted from 800-1300 most installers offer re-tunes F.O.C. as when new they do require retuning as diaphragms soften up. Usually over a period of up to 8000 miles.

Multi point injection.

The "gas kit" takes over the roll of the fuel injectors and injects gas instead of petrol.
Didn't look into this much as too expensive for me but looking at 1500-2000 for installation.
Not recommended for self install.

Where, what type and how many LPG tanks you want.

Best to speak to me in person as there are so many variables!!

Dave
