I have been asked if anyone would be interested in helping to marshal at a 24 hour long mountain bike race....

http://www.sip-events.co.uk/solo-home.html

It is on the weekend of the 7/8th April 2012. 10 marshals are needed and there will be payment made for your services.

The race runs from 12 until 12 and is at Newcastleton in the Scottish borders.

Please only let me know if you are 150% able to attend the event as the organisers need to know they have people to rely on.

1st question- with it being a 24hr  bike  race and the 12hrs finishing at midnight whilst the 24hr continues to midday Sunday if whoever is available can make it do they have to be there Friday with the competitors or Saturday.

2nd question- would there be somewhere for me to put my caravan for rest through the night if i was available and if so would i need to arrive Friday night or Saturday morning  .

Its just it falls  right in the middle of all my routine  appointments at the hospital so might be a helpful distraction for me lol.

Sorry for awkward questions but Im hoping to tell you i can make it very soon for definite.

Right plans changed so now I'm able to join this.

Stove, 2 jars of coffee and water. Suppose I should take food as well.

Paul just had a convo with Hugh Steel (Lothian/Nat Trustee) passed on your email addy and a bit of info....you may get an offer of help.

Some of the Lothian lads must have been down on one of the Safari's at some point as Hugh "knows" Ian Flint and I'm thinking likley you too. Grin

Hope that's helpfull mate.
